Hyperliquid uses a maker-taker fee model, which is standard across most cryptocurrency exchanges. Maker fees are 0.02% (2 basis points) and taker fees are 0.05% (5 basis points). Makers add liquidity by placing limit orders that don't immediately execute, while takers remove liquidity with market orders or limit orders that fill immediately.
These fees are extremely competitive compared to centralized exchanges. Binance charges 0.1% for spot trading (5x higher), while Bybit's perpetual fees are 0.02%/0.055%. Hyperliquid's on-chain execution with these low fees makes it one of the most cost-effective platforms for derivatives trading.
